Day 12: Creating Healthy Habits

"You don't get what you want in life, you get your habits" - Jim Fortin

It's true. We have goals for our health, work, relationships, yet we don't always do the things we need to do each and every day to reach those goals. Your habits, the small things you do each day are what will get you to your goals.

So how do you make healthy habits work for you?

1. Make them visible. If you have a bowl of washed apples ready to go on your counter where you see them, you'll be more likely       to grab one.
2. Make the temptations invisible. Don't buy the foods that tempt you! But if they are in your house, make them hard to get to             (like on the top shelf of the cabinet)
3. Stack a new habit with one you already have. For example, if you want to start writing a daily gratitude list, do that right               when you make your morning tea.
4. Set a specific time for your new habit. For example, "At 5:00, when I come home, I'll put my gym shoes on in the entryway            and go for a walk".
5. Set a timer or phone alarm to remind you to drink more water, or get up and move, or just a friendly reminder that you are              doing great!
